3 C's of Creating Content!
This is the starting point when you are beginning your entrepreneurial journey and transforming your social media from personal to professional- what that looks like, how do to it authentically, find your voice, and attract your audience.
Be CLEAR
Be clear in who you are and how you show up on social media.
If you're only posting about your business it's super sales-y and such a turn off.
You're going to prevent yourself from meeting new people- new people builds relationships, converts customers, and possibly builds your team!
Action Step:
Think about the things about you, beyond your business. Who are you outside your business & how do you want to show up on social media?
ex. mom of three, love fitness, baking and books
Someone should be able to go to your profile and see that about you!
Show up in your stories with your products and business opportunities.
Be clear in who your ideal customer is. How are they connecting on your page? What kind of content to they like to see & what are their social media habits? (Liking, saving, sharing with friends.)
Action Step:
Do some polls, question boxes, quizzes and sliders in your stories to find out what kind of content your audience is looking for.
This will clue you in on what kind of content to produce.
ex. summer tips in skin care, beauty recs for summer.
If you have a clear idea of your ideal audience and customer is, you can create content that attracts and converts.
Be CONSISTENT in your posting schedule.
Be consistent on social media, whether it's once a week or once a day.
If you are running a business on social media being consistent is the bare minimum for your business. If you can consistently show up once a week, pick a day to consistently show up. If you can show up consistently every day, show up every- single- day.
If you are consistently showing up, your audience knows when to look forward to your content.
Social Media is your business if you are a social seller. Showing up inconsistently reflects the inconsistency you have in your business as a business owner.
When I and moving forward with a social purchase, I look for people who show up consistently on social media because I know it matters to them. I know they are professional because they show up consistently. If I have a question, I know I am not going to be waiting a week to get an answer in a DM.
Consistency is hugely important when running your business on social media.
Action Plan:
Find a posting schedule that works well for your time. Stick to it! View your insights to see it working.
Be CONSISTENT in your content.
Being consistent in how you show up on social media allows your audience to get to know you, like you, and trust you.
ex. mom who loves fitness, fitness coach. Your audience will rely on you to show up that way with content that serves them.
Action Step:
Pick 3-5 topics (or personal passions) to share with your audience on social media (that is not your business!) Any less than 3, your business posts will be apparent and not engaging for attracting an audience. More than 5, your content will be confusing and your ideal audience will not be able to identify who you are. Being able to identify who you are is important for that connection to be made on social media.
Have A Call-To-Action!
If you're not telling your audience what to do with your content, they are doing nothing but scrolling by.
CTA's are helpful for your content engagement, so tell your audience what you want them to do! Like, Comment, Save or Share.
Facebook Secret: Encourage >hearts< instead of "likes" for increased content performance for your audience.
Action Step:
Head over to Instagram where I share CTA's for my Top 5 network marketing industries --> here.
Do your audience a favor in telling them to save for later so they can go back to that recipe or workout you shared! Respond to all comments, and reach out to anyone who "liked" your posts.
3 Things to Focus on when Creating Content:
1. Focus on Sharing <not> Selling. Your goal is to share your experience through your products and how they've changed your life.
2. Focus on Results <not> Products. Products GIVE the results, but people are looking for results (even if they don't know they're looking for it.
3. Focus on Value <not> Price: The price can make someone take a step back if they don't know the value your products provide for their life. This also gives off the "Buy From Me" vibe.
