How to Lead without Having a Team!

Dress for the job you want!

When you are going to an interview, you dress the part you're expecting to get. When you are looking for a new position at your job, you dress the part you want: taking on more responsibility to show that you are capable of taking the next step.

Dressing the part and showing up in that role is a mindset shift: You are ready. You are showing the world you are ready for this next step.

Have you seen Young Rock with the Rock: Dwayne Johnson?

The very first episode is called "Working the Gimmick."

The "Gimmick" in the show isn't a positive term used, however it describes this topic so perfectly. The episode is of young Rock's dad being a wrestlers and showing his audience his success, even though he isn't successful yet. But that's where he wants to go, so he's showing up that way.

This is so important, when you start your own business, to show up for the position and rank you want, because you're not going to get there unless you show up for it first.

We sign up in business under an upline. They have customers, an income, and a team they've build. We start at ZERO. We have no customers. We have no team. We are put into a position at zero.

The good thing about that is, YOU DON'T NEED ANYONE ELSE TO SUCCEED.

If you have a great team leader, that's going to help you along the way. But it's up to you to show up in that rank, that role, that you want to have.

Guess how many people you need on your team to be a team leader?

ZERO.

Example: Beauty Industry.

Your audience comes to you for-

-tips & tricks

-education on your products

-sales

-how to use products

-coaching how to show up online to share your products

Just like someone sharing their Starbucks drinks in their stories and encouraging their followers to try it, you can be coaching your customers to do the same thing!

"Hey, if you love this, make a post about it and tag me! Then share in your stories, too!"

Coach your customers how to do what you do, every single day. They may become your next Rockstar recruit!

If you have one team member, coach them how to be a team leader, how to be an active promoter in your company. You do not have to rely on your successful upline to be a team leader. You can show up as a team leader from day one. That will boost you mindset and your team. It will encourage them and empower them to do the same.

Watch the video (at 5 mins 30 seconds) to see how I've trained my samplers and customers how to share products from Day 1.

Show up for the role you want: Throw your team members into a Team Chat, separate from your upline, so you can have 1:1 conversations to help them succeed, too. Supporting and empowering your team to set goals and how to achieve them, how to show up everyday, how to coach their customers.

It's so important to step out of your comfort zone and SHOW UP.

Let me tell you about my humbling (devastating) first webinar!

I had been speaking about it for a week- in my stories, on my feed. I was going to share 5 Steps to Increase Your Content Performance on Instagram. I have had a 50% increase in my content performance in 5 weeks by using these 5 steps

Having an increased reach on social media is super important because in social selling you need to reach more people. You can't stay inside your bubble!

I was so super pumped! "Everybody is going to want this. Everyone is going to be excited and sign up! I am going to grow my email list." There was no way I was going to fail.

Guess how many people showed up?

one.

Guess who that person was?

My MOM!

That's ok! I showed up anyways.

At first I was devastated. I was pissed!

I am in so many groups of women who own their own business, who could benefit from this, and no one was showing up?!

I realized I had been showing up online as a mom & fitness blogger for a very long time. That's what people know me as.

When I made this transition to Business & Social media coach, nobody trusts me, I get it!

I hadn't been consistent in my business & social media content because it was new for me, too.

At first I thought, "No one wants to grow their business? Well, that's on them!"

Although that's still true, but this just shows me I need to continue to show up in the role that I want.

I know I am an expert. It's my JOB to know the ins-and-outs of social media, to know how it works, the algorithms, and best practices to help social sellers have success in their business.

Continue to show up. Be consistent in your content. Be consistent in showing up as the person you want to be and the person who is going to help others.

"EVEN IF NO ONE SIGNS UP, DO YOU BELIEVE IN IT? DO YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF? KEEP SHOWING UP."

You will attract your audience. You will attract your customers. You will attract your team.

The genuine-ness of being you, and showing up, and attracting instead of hunting to get those customers and hunting to build your team. Keep planting those seeds along the way. Keep up the conversations. Keep building those relationships. Because a solid foundation starts there and is so important for your business.

I KNOW you can make an impact by continuing to show up and do the work. That is where you are going to have success. Success regardless of how many customers you have or how many people are on your team. Keep showing up.

I want to support you! Tag me in your posts, we don't have to be in the same business, or even in the same industry! If you want shout outs, let me know! I will comment an share to support your business.

I see you. I see the hard work that you are doing. It's with the consistency that other people are going to see you, too.

Keep going. Keep showing up. Keep being a bright light on social media.

Does your team need some of this inspiration? Reminders to keep showing up and keep going? Motivation to work the gimmick? Share this with them! When they succeed, so do you.

"It's not NOT worth it. It's always worth it."
